EA Media Clip on Digital Admissions

Still image for this video

The Education Authority (EA) are introducing online applications for admission to  Primary 1 for the September 2019 intake.

A new portal for parents, to apply online for a place, has been created and will require parents to list preferences of schools. This replaces the current paper based application form.

For the forthcoming academic year, parents will still need to provide their child’s birth certificate directly to the first preference provider/school at the time of application. Some providers will also seek other verification documents at this stage in the process.

The Go Live date for digital applications is Wednesday 2 January 2019 at 10.00am. The closing time and date for punctual applications will be 12.00 midnight on Thursday 31 January 2019.

The EA is planning to provide Assisted Digital Support for parents and users of the new system. This will be in the form of a new telephone service, enhanced website content and a number of face-to-face drop-in clinics held in EA offices and other locations during January 2019.

We will provide updates as we receive further information from the EA.

If you have a child due to start Primary 1  in September 2019, and you would like us to add you to our mailing list, please contact the school office with details so that we can keep you up to date and support you in the process.
