Class P6P

Welcome to Primary 6!

We have had a fabulous start to the year. Our first topic was Light and Colour which was jam packed with science experiments, music and art! We have a very artistic bunch in P6 who thoroughly enjoyed creating contrasting pictures with warm and cool colours. We made our own lava lamps and also did chromatography experiments. We learned about procedural writing and Haiku poetry - some fabulous writers in team P6! In Numeracy we have been exploring place value, 2D and 3D shape properties and using our Mental Maths Maths Monsters to teach us strategies for solving tricky calculations. We have been swimming each week in PE and have also been playing netball and developing our co-ordination and agility. We LOVE PE in P6. Although we have been working really hard this term, we have had lots of fun along the way!

After Christmas, we can't wait to learn all about the Vikings and dress up for our Viking Day. We may even get to act like real Vikings, orienteering our way around the school grounds to find treasure! The Spring Term brings our Eco-Warriors topic where we write persuasive articles to encourage people to take notice of environmental issues and use Green Screen technology to make our own adverts. 

We are super excited to go on our favourite trip of all after Christmas - GANAWAY! We will stay overnight and take part in lots of fun activities. Our teacher has also said that they will make us hot chocolate before bedtime - what a treat!
